Il Palazzone is a boutique winery producing 1250-1500 cases of Brunello a year. Originally established in the late eighties, we have grown from a few hectares under vine to just over 13 hectares of vineyards, primarily located on the unique Le Due Porte hill just outside the village of Montalcino, composed of high-altitude plots that produce elegant, balanced wines. Our vineyards are in two geographically separate areas of Montalcino, allowing us to truly reflect variations in the microclimate and terroir. The wines are fermented in cement before spending two years or more aging in large traditional Slavonian barrels, with a brief return to cement before bottling and release. Our work in the vineyards is primarily manual and the estate prides itself on its sustainability and long-term stewardship of the land.
